French Shampoo? I'll Pass, Thank You

Okay, this isn't going to be a hit on the French for their world views, even though I don't think the French have won a war in more than a thousand years, if ever. No, this is about when I go out to buy shampoo, and I'm reading over the directions (because, "rinse, lather, rinse, repeat", can be a difficult combination to remember), and I see that the directions are also written in French. Now, one could conclude that Biolage is being sold in the finest beauty parlors in France, but I ask you this: have you ever been to France? Do you honestly think French women ever use beauty parlors, or showers? Okay, perhaps I'm being harsh, it does rain in France and that would technically be akin to a shower, but non the less, that's not really the point I'm trying to make here.

Are American consumers so stupid that they hear someone talking in a French accent on television, or reading the bottle of shampoo or face moisturizer and seeing it in French, and think to themselves "WOW, the beautiful women in France are using this, it must be wonderful stuff!!!". I figure these people should probably take a trip to France, and have a look for themselves at the 'beautiful french women'. Of course, if they do this, they will realize immediately why women's razors don't come with any French writing on them.

Now, one could argue that these products are included with French writing in order to market in Montreal, Canada. Now, seriously though, if this were the case why wouldn't there be directions written in Spanish, seeing how the market of hispanics within the United States is a MUCH larger demographic. No, the French directions on many health and beauty products are an idiotic ploy by companies in the United States aimed at ignorant consumers who have some view of France as a "Land Of Supermodels" when in fact it's more truthfully "Land Of A Thousand Sasquatches!!".

The B-52's Are Bombing

I heard this on the news and I was puzzled... I have listened to the B-52's since I was in high school, and to be quite truthful, I cannot remember a time when they were not bombing. I do like this strategy though, send a really horrible musical group into Iraq, have them play awful music, such as "Love Shack", and just watch the enemy troops run and scream and finally in the wake of bleeding ears, surrender to the United States forces. Yes, the B-52's have a rich tradition of bombing.

More On Iraqi Freedom

I hope to get away from this topic soon... I wanted to add a little more though...

War is a natural progression of human existance. It is certainly a beautiful and wonderful thought for people who live in comfy houses and do not know what is is like to be oppressed to shout out in the streets "NO WAR NO WAR WAR IS BAD!!!!" because they are like children on the landscape of the earth, never having lived the hardships in accordance with being oppressed. Another common misconception of anti war persons is the idea that everyone thinks the same way they do.

Sorry, but that is also not true. For all of human existance and certainly for the rest of time that humans occupy this planet or any other there will always be those who have a blood lust for power that is so intense that to feed that insatiable appetite for power they kill all that stands in their way, including the murder, torture, and widespread imprisonment of people in their own country.

You ask, "why the united states, why are they the world's policeman??" I ask you, WHY NOT? Seems the United States is continually called upon to help in bad situations be it Bosnia, Somalia, etc, who else is going to insure that Iraq FINALLY adheres to promises made 12 years ago? War will kill innocent people, but understand this, dozens, sometimes hundreds of innocent people die in Iraq EVERY DAY under Saddam, at least they have a chance now to get away from that.

Please listen to the first link, then read the second link, that i have posted below:

Perhaps afterwards those who protest this war will have a different opinion about things.
