Handicapped By Overeating???

I've always been of the opinion that there are too many handicapped parking spots. Certainly my opinion might be different if I was handicapped myself, but even then, I don't think there would ever be a time in which I wouldn't find a handicapped spot to park in, especially a place like walmart, who seems to have more handicapped spots to park than normal spots.

Let me get back though to what I'm actually getting into here. Some time ago I was in a buffet style resteraunt, and two very large people were eating there. In my own opinion, it disgusts me when people make no effort to take care of themselves, but in all reality, so be it, that is their choice. I happened to leave about the same time they did, and low and behold, they have a handicapped placard in their car, and of course, are parked in the handicapped parking area.

I really don't believe that obesity is a valid reason for calling yourself 'handicapped'. Obesity is a 'condition' that is preventable, not a debilitating disease such as cancer, or diabetes, or a condition that naturally affects everyone's mobility at some point: old age.

Perhaps overweight people should consider losing weight, rather than abusing a particular status reserved for those who have actual problems that are not preventable.
